Hello, My name is Ayşe Betül from Şanlıurfa. I have been teaching English for 3 years. This year, I have made some changes in my teaching methods by participating Etwinning. Now, I am planning a project which is a part of my new teaching path..

Project Description:
Project name: 

Food and Region

Abstract: 

Every country or every city has some characteristic features that seperate them from other cities or countries. The term culture is the sign of the city or region. Culture includes too many things in it. One of them is the food. In this project teachers and students become acquainted with the regions and their special foods.

Age range: 

10-16

Goals:

-Students will be able to recognize other regions' speacial foods
-Students will be able to enchance their cultural knowledge.
-
Work Process:

december: 
1.preparing logo and poster with using web 2.0 tools and introduce the project other people at the school
2.adding students onto twinspace
3.each school from each region will introduce themselves and their regions using web 2.0 tools like padlet.

january: 
4.each project partners will prepare a presentation of a food which belong their regions.

february: 
5. presentations will be uploaded to twinspaces so other participants will recognize other regions' food.

6. All participants will attend an online meeting and share their opinions about the foods.

march:
7. Students will prepare an online recipe about their regions' food and share them into twinspaces
8. All the recipes will be collected and published with e-book.
9. Regional Food Recipes Journal will be published and send to all partner schools.


Expected Results:
we expect that our students will know each regions' special food. 
Thanks to this project, cultural transmission will happen.
Online e-book will be prepared. Also a journal which includes recipes that students has shared will be send to all partner schools.

BREATHTAKING SPORTS

 If you ask me ''what do you think about extreme sports?'', I say ''Idon't think one day i will do one of them but these sports really breathtaking'' 

I don't think I can do at least one of them and I am appreciate people who can do extreme sports.even when i see pictures about extreme sports my heart starts beating fast:) Of course there is risk but without risk how can we taste life? A friend of mine always say to me that you feel like alive..That souns really attractive I hope one day I can do this:) 
As you can see from the pictures this sports really necessitate courage if you want to fly..

TECHNOLOGY!! MAKE LIFE EASIER

   Today,most people talk about technology.Its benefits can't count of course.30 years ago there was no computer,no mobile phones and so people can't keep in touch with each other.But now we can find even our elementary school friends and can talk with them thanks to technology and social network.
   Other benefits;Engineers,doctors,etc. try to find solutions for some problems with technology.Technology help them in their works.for example there is more environment-friendly household items compare with past.It is because TECHNOLOGY..Think about past again;there was no light and you have to sleep when sun went down..think about today we can stay until midnight.We have a lot of things that make life easier..Actually,technology aims to make life easier.The other one,doctors can find cure for some fatal ilnesses.They search easily and estimate how cure can be useful.While making these,they use technology.
   Finally; if we use technology in a good way,it makes our lives easier..

   This is really amazing.I can't imagine in the future what will happen:)

#VIOLENCE#

 WHO multi-country study found that between 15–71% of women reported 
experiencing physical and/or sexual violence by an intimate partner at some point in their lives.Why are the rates so high??It is because uneducated people? or undeveloped contries issues?? or unjustness..We all opposite violence but people can't prevent this bad situation.Last month;while i was watching television,I saw some news about women who killed by their husbands and I'm so effected and think about this problem.In our country also other countries inform their community about violence.Also,a lot of goverments give women various rights.This should have been before a lot of women experienced violence.Now we live in same world and everybody should do something about this issue.If everybody realize and do something,there is nothing about violence.Please don't play 3 monkeys;havent heard,havent seen,havent know...

I accept importance of fashion.It can't be neglected but it has certain drawbacks too.Fashion is often associated with promoting capitalism. Fashion is least rational; people buy new clothes when old are still wearable. They don't wear old clothes just because they are no longer fashionable.Most of the trend fashions last shortly.In 3 or 4 months later they change.It can be say it is also waste of money.Sometimes teenagers make strange tattoos and piercing.(especially the tongue)They follow such fashion without thinking.I've mentioned extreme fashion fans:)Of course some people follow fashion moderately.

ADVERTISING

I haven't decided yet whether advertising is beneficial or not.We can see a lot of products of the same category and we can choose the best for us.Another example because of the companies' competition we can also buy products cheaper than usually.They generally make advertising about discount of prices and we are informed about new products,films,contest etc.However,they usually cheat us.Products may not be as good as we show in advertising.another bad example is effects on children and poor people.They don't care about people's economic condition.Maybe they can't afford.This situation makes them upset.As you see there are some positive some negative effects.If the companies don't cheat and care about children,this negative effects won't be a problem.
